4/27/06 Boulevard:
Thee invisible line between paradise and the real world, how it shows when we are in a place where the divisions are so obvious, where one side you are served, and the other, you are the server. One is pampered, while the other is running the pump. I call this the other side looking across the line in through the window of paradise, one may see this if you so seek, if you have traveled the coastal area, as I have you will note that in most area’s the sandy white beaches are on the side of the road that divides it, from other side, the service side, which is the working side of the road.
If one were to picture this as a whole , or if you will a version of life, and compare the idea to everyday coming and going , one would see that it is not mush different than the way we all live or life’s , that is for most of us. I use this as a metaphor in thinking of the daily routine we all run through , I call this phrase “Another Day in Paradise “. It occurs to me mostly in a vision of the world and compare to everyday life in my world; it sometimes helps me to keep a perspective on how things seem to run. The paradise is a vision of what we are looking for, our seeing as a masquerade, the thing that makes us want to go to work and try to keep in mind what we should, as a responsible person. The thought of it is always there, what are we doing, where are we going, and when will we know that we have arrived in the parking lot that takes us to the paradise we are seeking. It becomes a personal thing I know, but still when put into words or a saying I feel justified in that, it has substance and meaning. The idea of rolling down the road and putting forth a real effort to achieve and eventually maybe get ever so close, or to just stop and work on the side of the boulevard for awhile, where at least we can see it from the other side and dream someday maybe, then when necessary rejoining the road and continue on, still looking for a place to park.
The journey will take us too many views, and many miles down the road, it’s up to us to say when we will get off, and walk for awhile on the beach, but normally this is only temporary, and becomes just a break in our everyday action of survival. So we continue on, and enjoy the ride as we can, still looking across the road and seeing what we see, the view of paradise. So as I said, as an overall theme when one realizes, whether on one side of the boulevard or, the other, it’s still there, and you to can say: “Just another Day in Paradise ”
